The Divers Boat — International SSI Dive Center

Founded in 2016, The Divers Boat is a human-scale SSI dive center born from a simple idea: share a passion for diving in one of the most beautiful settings in the Gulf of Thailand. Its founder Baloo fell in love with Thailand, moved to Koh Tao, and built a center that reflects his values — comfort, quality teaching, and a genuine sense of fun.

Our instructors teach in French, English, and Spanish, and we welcome divers from all major certification agencies (SSI, PADI, CMAS and others), whether they want to fun dive, improve their skills, or complete a new course.

Thanks to Thailand’s excellent year-round conditions, we operate 365 days a year — with no low season and no reason to wait.

We operate two traditional Thai fishing boats, fully renovated for scuba diving.

Two Boats — Two Experiences

To meet all divers’ needs, we offer two distinct boats. One is dedicated to training and beginner courses, while the other is reserved for fun dives for certified divers.
As a result, every diver enjoys a tailored experience according to their level.

🛥️ The Divers Boat “White” — Training & Skill Improvement

The “White” is a former Thai fishing boat converted into a comfortable dive boat.
It accommodates up to 25 divers. Moreover, it is mainly used for training, try dives, and skill improvement courses.

Perfect for Beginners

This boat is ideal for beginners or students in training. Indeed, its moderate size allows closer instructor supervision.
Therefore, learners feel safe and receive personalized guidance.

Boat Layout and Facilities

First deck: equipment area, kitchen, 2 toilets, tank racks, and dive platform.
Second deck: captain’s cabin and shaded lounge for meals and refreshments.
Third deck (Sun Deck): relaxation area for sunbathing or enjoying the ocean view. Smoking allowed.

KOH TAO, Thailand

Koh Tao is a small island of 21 km² nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, about 70 km south of Koh Samui and the mainland port of Chumphon. Most ferries depart from Chumphon, making it a natural gateway for divers and snorkelers from around the world.

The island’s name comes from its shape when seen from above — resembling a turtle. In Thai, “Tao” means turtle, a fitting tribute to the nature that has always defined this place.

🏛️ A Surprising History

Few visitors know this, but the Thai government used Koh Tao as a political prison in the 1930s and 1940s. Paradoxically, this forced isolation helped preserve the island’s natural beauty — its coral reefs and marine life remained untouched, making Koh Tao one of the world’s best diving destinations today.

🌊 When to Dive in Koh Tao?

Unlike many tropical destinations, Koh Tao welcomes divers all year round. The January–April period offers particularly optimal conditions, with exceptional visibility and comfortable water temperatures. These months also bring the highest chances of encountering whale sharks at Chumphon Pinnacle or Sail Rock. Sea turtles, barracuda schools, blue-spotted stingrays — every trip holds its surprises. Super expérience avec Arthur comme moniteur que je recommande à 100%. Il m’a accompagné et a été à l’écoute de ce que j’aimais dans les plongées. I had an absolutely incredible experience diving at Sail Rock with this shop!

A massive shoutout to our instructor, Vita, who truly made the day special. Her preparation was top-notch and her professionalism unmatched, balancing a relaxed attitude with a serious commitment to safety.

The two dives at Sail Rock were breathtaking, and thanks to Vita’s expert guiding, we saw so much marine life including numerous great barracudas and a big batfish school. Thanks Vita and Diver’s Boat

I’m so glad we went to this dive centre! We did our certificate at another dive centre on Koh Tao but we much preferred these guys!
We did a 3 dive day to Sail rock, Shark island and Southwest and it was incredible.
All the gear is already on the boat so no washing or carrying. Snacks and lunch on board were delicious. The staff are so chill and inviting. A much more relaxed, spacious and friendly vibe. The boat has the wet deck with all the gear and the top deck has large comfortable tables and a cover from the sun.
If I come back to Koh Tao I will be coming here.

J’ai passé ma formation de Divemaster chez The Divers Boat à Koh Tao, en Thaïlande avec mon buddy, et je peux dire que c’était une expérience absolument incroyable.
Dès le premier jour, l’équipe a été d’un professionnalisme et d’une bienveillance remarquables. Les instructeurs Florent, Isabelle, Arthur, Marine, Batiste et Dive Master Ysaline, Océane sont passionnés, pédagogues et expérimentés. Ils prennent le temps de transmettre non seulement les compétences techniques, mais aussi la vraie mentalité d’un Dive Master : leadership, sécurité, gestion de groupe et amour de l’océan.
La formation était complète, exigeante et parfaitement structurée. J’ai énormément progressé, tant sur le plan professionnel que personnel. Chaque plongée était une opportunité d’apprendre, de s’améliorer et de gagner en confiance. L’ambiance au sein du centre est à la fois sérieuse, conviviale et familial on se sent rapidement intégré dans une vraie famille de plongeurs.
Si vous cherchez un centre de plongée pour passer votre Divemaster dans un cadre paradisiaque, avec une équipe compétente et passionnée, je recommande The Divers Boat les yeux fermés. Une expérience inoubliable qui restera gravée à vie. 🌊🤿

Au top 👌 Déjà, je les ai choisi parmi beaucoup d’autres car ce sont les seuls à m’avoir expliqué en détails la journée par Whatsapp et pas juste annoncé un prix 😉. La journée nous étions 11 plongeurs sur le bateau, donc pas surcommercialisé, 1 moniteur pour 4 plongeurs. Notre groupe de 4 avait, en plus de son moniteur Nicolas, Julian qui passait son habilitation pour devenir guide. Tous les 2 étaient sympathiques mais surtout très professionnels et rassurants. Très belle expérience de partage et de découverte 🤩🤩🤩. Merci à vous tous

Une expérience incroyable à Koh Tao ! Nous avons passé un moment exceptionnel lors de notre baptême de plongée. Un immense merci à Batiste et Jean-Baptiste, qui ont été tout simplement géniaux : très patients, rassurants et pédagogues malgré mes grosses appréhensions. Ils ont pris le temps de tout nous expliquer et de nous apprendre les bases de la plongée dans une ambiance détendue et bienveillante. On s’est sentis en confiance du début à la fin, ce qui nous a permis de profiter pleinement de l’expérience. Un club que nous recommandons les yeux fermés à tous ceux qui veulent découvrir la plongée dans les meilleures conditions.

Did the 3 dive package to South West, Sail Rock and Shark Island.

Our guide, Tomas, was very attentive. Our group was mixed ability and the vis was poor. He did a good job of keeping us together and checked our air frequently. Felt like he knew where the boat was at all times.

Sometimes he went a bit too quickly for me, I like to chill, hence the 4 and not 5 star review.

Would recommend Divers Boat.

Super club de plongée !!!
Très bon accueil et chez eux, surtout, c'est pas l'usine. Bon bateau, spacieux, on est pas les uns sur les autres et cuisine à bord très bien. Le matériel est en très bon état voire neuf.
On a fait plusieurs plongées avec Ysaline et Océane. Très pro toutes les deux, attentives et bonnes guides, elles connaissent les sites par cœur. Cerise sur le gâteau, on a rencontré un jeune requin baleine.
Club à recommander sans hésiter, de plus tout le monde parle tous français.

Nous venons (ma femme, nos 2 grands garçons et moi) de faire notre baptême de plongée avec The Divers Boat à Koh Tao. Nous avons été vraiment très bien accueillis, un créneau a pu nous être proposé du jour pour le lendemain (je crois que nous avons eu un peu de chance...).
Le jour J, notre instructeur, Baptiste, au delà d'être très sympa, a été extrêmement pédagogue, et a su évacuer les appréhensions de certains d'entre nous.
Bilan: 3 super plongées, jusqu'à 12 mètres pour 3 d'entre nous.
Tout était vraiment top, même le repas entre la 1ère et la 2ème plongée
Nous avons adoré cette journée d'initiation à la plongée avec The Divers Boat et Baptiste.
Chaudement recommandé !

Yesterday I was diving with " The Diver's Boat at Koh Tao.
We have visited the dive spots
"South West Pinnacle", "Samran Pinnacle" and "Sail Rock".
All three dive spots have their own caracter. You will find schools of fish and at Samran Pinnacle also fishing nets which looks mystique.
I am already diving for many years but what I have seen at "Sail Rock" was absolutely fantastic. So many different schools of fish I have never seen in my life at one spot.
Just look and enjoy my fotos.
The people at the diving school are all very friendly and they also have a very good boat for these special diving spots.
I shall dive with "The Diver's Boat" as long as my holidays will last.
There are only a few places in the world where you can make 3 dives at one day all only wearing a T-shirt all the time.
That this is very comfortably diving only with a few weights on the belt everybody knows. I have dived with Lulu who is very experienced and knows the places very well. Thank you very much to Lulu.

Had a great time diving with The Diver's Boat crew. Did some specialty courses over a week and was impressed by the high standard of instruction. The boat was very comfortable and spacious. The dive shop was well organised and the prices were very competitive. Thanks to our instructors Flo and Isa and our gratitude to Medi for assisting during our rescue course. Would definitely recommend this dive centre and will return for some more fun dives.

Vraiment un bon club de plongée, francophone mais international, qui se démarque des 'usines' que l'on rencontre sur l'île. Une ambiance détendue mais néanmoins sérieuse et sécurisante. Des formateurs sympathiques et souriants, un staff qui connait le sens du mot 'service', j'en ai eu l'expérience. Le bateau, classique dans la région, est spacieux et possède un compresseur. L'espace détente est bien organisé et, chose exceptionnelle, un repas local est offert à bord.
Un seul regret, je ne peux pas mettre 6 étoiles 😉.
A recommander pour une bonne expérience.

Nous avons fait le baptême de plongé avec Yamine! Superbe compagnie de plongé! Je recommande à 100%. L’équipe nous a mise en confiance et très à l’aise pour notre première plongé. Maddie la photographe est super génial et elle fait des photos de malade.

Nous étions toutes seules avec le moniteur et je trouve cela génial d’être en petit groupe et de ne pas se sentir dans un tourisme de masse. L’équipe est très souriante et de très bonne compagnie. Nous avons passé une super journée dans l’authenticité de la splendeur de l’île de Koh Tao.

Pour une première expérience je suis très satisfaite et je suggère à tout le monde de prendre The divers Boat.😁🇹🇭

Dès qu'on pousse la porte du shop l'accueil est souriant et très sympathique 😁
J'ai eu toutes les info nécessaires concernant le déroulement des cours de plongée.
Voulant effectuer un Baptême, je me suis finalement inscrite pour un Open Water ce qui m'a donné envie de faire l'Advence !
Lilou a été mon instructrice, souriante et professionnelle je me suis sentie en confiance avec elle pour passer mon Open et l'Advence ! Merci Lilou !
Ha les petits plus:
-Bateau ouvert et franchement le plus beau du Pier;
-de beaux sites pas surpeuplé.
-les affaires de plongée sont déjà sur le bateau, pas besoin de les porter;
-Repas proposé pour 100 bath et on peu se reservir pour les gourmands (eau, thé, café à dispo);
- la nigth dive 💙
Je recommande à 200% The Divers Boat !

Un centre de plongée francophone génial. L’équipe est extra, l’équipement bien entretenu est sur le bateau ce qui évite de se trimballer son bardingue.

Les instructeurs et dive masters sont arrangeants mais surtout très pédagogues. Nos 2 funs dives se sont super bien passées et les 3 baptêmes aussi. Ma petite sœur n’a qu’une hâte replonger ! Il s’en fallait de peu pour qu’on la laisse à Koh Tao… 🐢

Le bateau est grand et bien emménagé. Ils sont réactifs sur WA. On recommande chaudement The Divers Boat si vous plongez à Koh Tao
