Koh Tao is nicknamed “the island of divers” for a reason. And you don’t need to speak French to learn to dive here with us. The Divers Boat is an SSI dive center that teaches in English, in small groups, on a dedicated training boat. Daily meals are included too. Here’s what it looks like.
Why learn to dive at Koh Tao with us?
Small groups, real attention
Most dive centers on Koh Tao train large groups on a shared boat. We do things differently. Our white boat is dedicated entirely to training — no mixing with fun-dive groups, no rushed schedule. Every course is also capped at 4 divers per instructor. That means real attention, both in the water and out of it.
A faster course, without shortcuts
Our Open Water course runs in 2 days instead of the usual 3. It’s a rare option on the island. We still don’t cut corners on the required dives or skills — you complete every session. On top of that, a hot lunch, fruit, snacks, tea and coffee are included every day you’re on the boat.
A bilingual, unhurried team
Our instructors teach in English as well as French. So whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with a French-speaking group, you’re covered. In addition, our departures are staggered. As a result, you often reach dive sites right after the crowd has left, so the water is calmer and the reef gets less pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here’s what most people ask before they learn to dive at Koh Tao with us.
Do I need any diving experience to start?
No. Open Water is an entry-level certification — you can start with zero experience. You need to be at least 10 years old and comfortable swimming 200 meters.
Is the course really taught in English?
Yes. Our instructors teach in English as well as French — briefings, theory sessions and in-water instruction are all available in English.
How can the Open Water course be only 2 days?
You complete the theory online before arriving. That way, your time on the boat is focused on confined-water practice and your 4 open-water dives. It’s the same requirements as a standard 3-day course — just organized more efficiently.
Is a meal included during the course?
Yes, a hot lunch plus fruit, snacks, tea and coffee are included on every training day.
What SSI certification will I hold afterwards?
An SSI Open Water Diver certification, recognized worldwide, letting you dive to 18 meters with a buddy without an instructor.
Small groups, English-speaking instructors, meals included every day.
