Nitrox SSI Koh Tao, Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty
The Nitrox SSI Koh Tao course teaches you how to dive safely with enriched air mixes containing up to 36% oxygen. With Nitrox, you increase your no-decompression limits, reduce your surface intervals, and enjoy more comfort during your dives. Many divers also feel less tired after using enriched air — making it one of the most practical certifications you can add during your stay in Koh Tao, the diver’s island. This specialty is recognised by SSI and valid at affiliated centres worldwide.
Why take the Nitrox SSI Koh Tao course?
Diving with Nitrox offers several important benefits on sites like Sail Rock or Chumphon Pinnacle. First, you can stay underwater longer while remaining within safe limits. In addition, your surface intervals are shorter compared to diving on air. Finally, Nitrox SSI Koh Tao increases your safety during repetitive dives — especially useful on multi-dive days or liveaboards. According to DAN (Divers Alert Network), Nitrox correctly used reduces the risk of decompression sickness during repetitive diving.
How the Nitrox SSI Koh Tao course works
The Nitrox SSI Koh Tao specialty can be completed in one day, with two options:
- Full theory course only
- Or theory + 2 dives down to 30 metres
During your training, you will learn:
- How to analyse your Nitrox mix and calculate your Maximum Operating Depth (MOD)
- How to plan your dives safely within no-decompression limits
- How to understand and manage oxygen exposure (CNS, OTU)
- How to dive with enriched air at 32% and 36% oxygen
What you will gain, real benefits underwater
You enjoy longer dives, shorter surface intervals, and more relaxed experiences — ideal for fun diving in Koh Tao, underwater photography, or multi-dive days. Once certified, you can also consider upgrading to Level 2 (mixes up to 40% oxygen) during the same stay — ask us about combining both levels. To book, contact us directly.
