SSI diving center.

Created in 2017, THE DIVERS BOAT is an SSI dive center on a human scale.

Its founder Baloo fell in love with Thailand. Then he moved to KOH TAO to carry out a project close to his heart. Which was to pass on his passion for diving in a heavenly location on the Gulf of Thailand.
He’s going to emphasize comfort (boat) and pedagogy in learning to dive… without forgetting a dose of fun! And all this is possible thanks to the fantastic team of enthusiasts who surround him for your joy and pleasure. Not forgetting the masterpiece that is our boat.

So we teach a variety of courses from beginner to professional level with SSI. And our instructors speak French, English and Spanish.

But we also accept divers from all other standard certification agencies. And whether they want to dive, Fun Dive or improve their certification level, courses. Thanks to Thailand’s excellent weather conditions, we’re open all year round.

Our center is located in MAE HAAD Koh Tao, on the street leading up from the harbor. We welcome you every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm with a smile! We also have a branch in SAIRE Koh Tao. And there’s also our branch in CHALOKLUM Koh Phangan.

The Divers Boat, diving centre.

The BOAT

It’s an old traditional Thai fishing boat that we’ve modified and optimized into a dive boat. But it’s big enough to accommodate up to 25 divers. And it offers different areas to make the most of every moment of your outing.

So it’s made up of 3 levels:

✓ The second floor includes the equipment room, kitchen, 2 toilets, dive tank storage and launching area.

✓ On the second floor is the captain’s cabin. There’s also the covered lounge where you can sit down to meals and refreshments provided by your French-speaking dive center.

✓ The top floor: the Sun Deck. It will delight sun lovers. And you’ll enjoy the view during boat trips to the various sites. It’s also the boat’s smoking area.

EQUIPMENT

All your diving equipment (wetsuits, fins, masks, stabilizing jackets, regulators, cylinders) is already on the boat. So there’s no need to carry all your gear to the boat! Just bring your good mood and your towel and make the most of diving with your French-speaking dive center.

From the moment you arrive to the moment you return to THE DIVERS BOAT center, we’re committed to offering you the very best of the “divers’ island”.

Philosophy

THE DIVERS BOAT team invites you to embark on an aquatic adventure to discover the KOH TAO seabed in optimal conditions. When you climb aboard our boat, known as one of the most comfortable for diving trips. Or you’ll be accompanied by our SSI-certified INSCRUCTORS and DIVEMASTERS, who also speak French, English and Spanish.

We are a SSI dive center, but we welcome divers from other agencies and all nationalities who would like to dive with us.

Snorkeling

If you dive and your companion doesn’t, he or she can spend the day on the boat with you. Are you a group of friends who simply want to enjoy a snorkeling trip around Koh Tao? It’s perfectly possible!

That’s why The Divers Boat offers snorkeling trips. You can relax on the boat and take a few dips in the water’s surface with fins, mask and snorkel, accompanied by a guide from our French-speaking diving center.

THE DIVERS BOAT also offers accommodation at THE DIVERS HOUSE hotel. It is located above its antenna in SAIREE. If you wish, you can contact us to book a room or dormitory bed during your stay in KOH TAO. And we’ll plan your diving trips for you.

And don’t forget that we also have a yoga studio in our hotel. THE REBORN YOGA, with 3 sessions a day.

SSI: Scuba Schools International

SSI is a worldwide scuba diving training organization, founded in 1970 by Robert Clark in Colorado, USA. It is renowned for its high standards and wide range of programs for all levels of divers, from beginners to professionals.

So SSI uses the Total Teaching System, which integrates online teaching resources, videos and applications to facilitate learning. And that the approach is flexible, allowing instructors to tailor courses to students’ needs, promoting personalized learning. That’s why our diving center is French-speaking.

Our courses are suitable for beginners and advanced divers alike. Courses start from the Open Water Diver level. This is for people who want to start recreational diving. And we go all the way up to professional level, dive master and instructor. For those who want to turn their passion into a profession.

KOH TAO, Thailand

Koh Tao is a small island of 21 km² in the Gulf of Thailand. It lies around 70 km south of Koh Samui and Chumphon on the mainland. Most ferries to Koh Tao depart from Chumphon, making it a veritable paradise for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, attracting visitors from all over the world.

The island is called Koh Tao because of its shape, which resembles a turtle seen from above. In Thai, the word “Tao” means turtle.

Interestingly, the government used Koh Tao as a political prison in the 1930s and 1940s. However, the island’s natural beauty, in particular its marine life and coral reef, has been preserved, making it an ideal place for diving.

The best time to visit Koh Tao is between January and April. During these months, diving conditions are optimal, with exceptional visibility and pleasant temperatures. Divers can explore renowned sites such as Chumphon Pinnacle and Sail Rock, where they have the chance to spot whale sharks, turtles and a multitude of colorful fish. The Divers Boat will take care of the rest.

In addition to diving, Koh Tao offers a wide range of activities, including yoga, hiking, kayaking, climbing, paddling, gym and Thai boxing. Not forgetting that the island is also known for its friendly, welcoming culture, with many bars and restaurants serving delicious Thai cuisine.

Vraiment un bon club de plongée, francophone mais international, qui se démarque des 'usines' que l'on rencontre sur l'île. Une ambiance détendue mais néanmoins sérieuse et sécurisante. Des formateurs sympathiques et souriants, un staff qui connait le sens du mot 'service', j'en ai eu l'expérience. Le bateau, classique dans la région, est spacieux et possède un compresseur. L'espace détente est bien organisé et, chose exceptionnelle, un repas local est offert à bord.Un seul regret, je ne peux pas mettre 6 étoiles 😉.A recommander pour une bonne expérience.

Nous avons fait le baptême de plongé avec Yamine! Superbe compagnie de plongé! Je recommande à 100%. L’équipe nous a mise en confiance et très à l’aise pour notre première plongé. Maddie la photographe est super génial et elle fait des photos de malade.Nous étions toutes seules avec le moniteur et je trouve cela génial d’être en petit groupe et de ne pas se sentir dans un tourisme de masse. L’équipe est très souriante et de très bonne compagnie. Nous avons passé une super journée dans l’authenticité de la splendeur de l’île de Koh Tao.Pour une première expérience je suis très satisfaite et je suggère à tout le monde de prendre The divers Boat.😁🇹🇭

Dès qu'on pousse la porte du shop l'accueil est souriant et très sympathique 😁J'ai eu toutes les info nécessaires concernant le déroulement des cours de plongée.Voulant effectuer un Baptême, je me suis finalement inscrite pour un Open Water ce qui m'a donné envie de faire l'Advence !Lilou a été mon instructrice, souriante et professionnelle je me suis sentie en confiance avec elle pour passer mon Open et l'Advence ! Merci Lilou !Ha les petits plus:-Bateau ouvert et franchement le plus beau du Pier;-de beaux sites pas surpeuplé.-les affaires de plongée sont déjà sur le bateau, pas besoin de les porter;-Repas proposé pour 100 bath et on peu se reservir pour les gourmands (eau, thé, café à dispo);- la nigth dive 💙Je recommande à 200% The Divers Boat !Une équipe de pro au top qui veulent vous faire vivre la meilleure expérience client ! 😄

On a adoré notre plongée de Noël avec The Divers Boat. Un départ entre 10h et 11h pour ne pas être avec tous les autres bateaux, une équipe aux petits soins et un matériel de qualité ! On s’est senti super bien et on recommande ce centre pour des baptêmes, notre famille a passé un super moment ♥️

Un centre de plongée francophone génial. L’équipe est extra, l’équipement bien entretenu est sur le bateau ce qui évite de se trimballer son bardingue.Les instructeurs et dive masters sont arrangeants mais surtout très pédagogues. Nos 2 funs dives se sont super bien passées et les 3 baptêmes aussi. Ma petite sœur n’a qu’une hâte replonger ! Il s’en fallait de peu pour qu’on la laisse à Koh Tao… 🐢Le bateau est grand et bien emménagé. Ils sont réactifs sur WA. On recommande chaudement The Divers Boat si vous plongez à Koh Tao
