## 1 Sail Rock (Hin Bai)<\/h2>\n

The best dive site in the Gulf of Thailand – All levels<\/span> 5\u201340 m<\/span> ~2h from Koh Tao<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Sail Rock is a legend. This granite pinnacle rises above the surface like an iceberg, visible from afar. Underwater, it is another world: the famous vertical chimney<\/strong> \u2014 a natural tunnel through the rock with three entrances between 5 and 19 metres \u2014 is a one-of-a-kind experience that divers never forget.<\/p>\n

Barracudas, wahoos, giant moray eels, stingrays\u2026 and if you are lucky, a whale shark. The best time to see them is between January and May<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

we offer Sail Rock dives every day: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as part of our Ultimate 3S trip (Southwest \/ Samran \/ Sail Rock) from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on other days as a double Sail Rock dive for a complete immersion at this legendary site from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

## 2 Samran Pinnacle<\/h2>\n

Our best-kept secret – Open Water +<\/span> 9\u201328 m<\/span> ~1h<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Located between Sail Rock and Koh Tao, Samran Pinnacle is one of the least visited sites in the region \u2014 and that is precisely what makes it so special. We are one of the very few centres to visit it regularly, particularly on our Ultimate 3S excursion (Southwest \/ Samran \/ Sail Rock)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A large rock starting at 9 metres depth, surrounded by schools of barracudas, fusiliers, and trevallies. A wilder, more intimate dive, far from the crowds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

## 3 Chumphon Pinnacle<\/h2>\n

The jewel of Koh TaoOpen Water +<\/span> 14\u201336 m<\/span> ~40 min<\/span><\/h3>\n
<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

If you can only do one dive in Koh Tao, do it here. Chumphon Pinnacle is, by most accounts, the best site on the island. A massive granite pinnacle whose summits are entirely covered in colourful anemones, alive with pink anemonefish playing hide and seek. As you descend, swirling schools of barracudas, trevallies, and fusiliers surround you from every direction.<\/p>\n

This is also the number one site for whale shark sightings<\/strong> \u2014 our personal record: two whale sharks on the same dive. Visibility can exceed 20 metres on a good day.<\/p>\n

## 4 Southwest Pinnacle<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Diversity in its purest form – Open Water +<\/span> 6\u201330 m<\/span> ~25 min<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Southwest Pinnacle is a series of rocky peaks rising from the sand, covered in sea fans, gorgonians, and magnificent anemone gardens in the shallower sections. Further down, barrel sponges and black corals dominate the scenery.<\/p>\n

This is one of our favourite sites for spotting giant groupers<\/strong>, barracudas, and \u2014 on rare occasions \u2014 leopard sharks resting on the sandy bottom. A night dive at Southwest is also a truly magical experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

## 5\u00a0White Rock<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The all-occasions dive site – All levels<\/span> 5\u201328 m<\/span> ~15 min<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

White Rock is one of the most versatile sites around Koh Tao. By day, you encounter stingrays, octopuses, clownfish, and an incredible variety of macro life. However, it is at night<\/strong> that White Rock truly reveals its character: bioluminescent squid, hunting octopuses, red-eyed shrimp\u2026 A spectacle we love sharing on our night dives.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

## 6 HTMS Sattakut<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The historic wreck – Open Water +<\/span> 18\u201330 m<\/span> ~20 min<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n

Into wreck diving? The HTMS Sattakut is made for you. This 48-metre American landing craft from World War II was deliberately sunk in 2011 to create an artificial reef. Today, it is covered in corals and inhabited by abundant marine life: lionfish, moray eels, barracudas, schools of fusiliers\u2026<\/p>\n

In addition, the HTMS Suphairin and HTMS Hanhaksattru<\/strong> \u2014 two Thai military vessels sunk in September 2023 \u2014 are now accessible and offer fascinating dives for wreck enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

## 7\u00a0Japanese Garden<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

A paradise for beginners – Beginners<\/span> 2\u201314 m<\/span> ~10 min<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Japanese Garden is the ideal site for first dives and try dives. The water is calm and shallow, yet marine life is surprisingly rich: sea turtles, boxfish, pufferfish, parrotfish\u2026 The coral garden is a spectacular display of colours that never fails to impress beginners.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udca1 This is where many of our Open Water students complete their first open water dive. A gentle, welcoming place to fall in love with diving.<\/div>\n

When is the best time to dive in Koh Tao?<\/h2>\n

The good news: you can dive in Koh Tao all year round<\/strong>. Water temperature stays around 29\u00b0C and can reach 32\u00b0C in May. Here is a quick seasonal guide:<\/p>\n
